The Spanish, increasingly fashionable

The Spanish, not a Spanish person but the language, is increasingly fashionable.  The report realised by the British Council, the international public culture institute of the United Kingdom, whose objective is the diffusion of the knowledge about the English language and culture through the formation and other educational activities states that, currently, the Spanish language is spoken by 400 million people.

The report Languages for the Future shows very interesting data regarding the learning of Spanish such as the fact that it is the first language chosen by the people of United Kingdom to learn, or that it is also the only language that does not decrease concerning the A level, or even that is still exceeding the German language in terms of popularity (trend already detected in this country in 2008).

It is true that the term «Spanish» defining our language is very wide. Such is the richness of this language that there are not only differences between Spanish people and Latin Americans, or even among the last group. The inhabitants of the different regions of Spain offer different idioms, terms, and idiomatic turns that stand the hair of any non-Spanish student on end or, as it is said in Spanish, “les ponen los pelos de punta”.

Whether it is due to the influence of Latin American music, Spanish actors, actresses, and singers who have triumphed in the Anglo-Saxon world, because of the Spanish people have enough sun and beach to share, or thanks to our culture, heritage, and gastronomy… Spain is trendy as well as the Spanish language.

In Spanish Essential Courses, we are aware of this wealth and, for this reason, our courses and activities are designed for students delve themselves into the culture, language, and reality of Spain.
