In 2017, in a volunteer project in Hungary, I met a group of Asturians who spoke no English. They kept speaking in Spanish I answered in English, because surprisingly I understood almost everything.
I am convinced that in those two weeks in Hungary they served to sow the first seed of my interest in Spanish. And since then, I have not ceased to be interested and learn this language.
I have to admit that it is true that Italian and Spanish are very similar (both are Latin languages, have common words and even use the same structures as phrases)… but not at all!
One of the first obstacles I have encountered and which I know is also a problem for non-Spanish speakers is the difference between the verb SER and the verb ESTAR, which, in both Italian and English, are translated into a single verb.
